Filming in Progress: What to Expect When The Camera Comes Out

While we usually focus on form and sweat, sometimes we add a little cinematic flair to your ride. If you’ve signed up for a class labeled Filming in Progress, here’s your friendly survival guide for when the big lenses come out.

COME AS YOU ARE

Some riders might worry about ponytail placement or the perfect hair flip, but here’s your reminder: just come as you are. Ride your ride and do your thing. We never want the presence of a camera to distract you from the magic of the blue room.

THE SUDDEN PRESSURE OF “PERFECT FORM”

Yes, we love a strong push to tap with dialed-in form, but the camera doesn’t mean you can’t modify. No matter who’s filming, we want you to honor your ride. Perfection has never been the goal in that space. So regardless of the heat the instructor brings… you do you, boo.

WE LOVE YOUR FACE

You’ll probably fall into one of two camps: Either you stare into the distance with the intensity of an Olympic athlete, or you catch the videographer’s eye and immediately dissolve into an awkward giggle. Honestly? Both make great B-roll. Either way, we love your face.

WE APPRECIATE YOUR ENERGY

The GritCycle community is known for the incredible energy it brings into the room. When a camera is present, keep that energy going. We love a spontaneous high five, clapping during a sprint build, or a good towel whip in the air. Hold nothing back—this is what makes our community so special.
